FAQs
What are your credentials?
I am licensed to practice law in both Washington and Indiana. My Juris Doctor degree is from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, Indiana. In undergraduate, I majored in Applied Mathematics and minored in Journalism at Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana.
I began working in Probate, Estates, and Trusts in the mid-2000s. Read more about me here.
How much will it cost?
I charge an hourly rate of $250, plus a per document fee. A list of the document fees can be found here (scroll down to see fees).
Where is your office?
I am able to meet with clients at my Green Lake office (7871 Green Lake Dr. N., Seattle, WA 98103, near Duke’s and Lake Realty) on Wednesdays. Alternatively, I can reserve a conference room at the downtown/First Hill office.
Please send all mail correspondence to 702 Spring St, W-2021, Seattle, WA 98104.
What is the usual process?
I meet with clients on Tuesday and Wednesday. The first meeting can either be in person, by phone, or via Zoom. During that first meeting, we will come up with an estate plan that will work to accomplish your goals for you and your family. The documents typically include a Will, Powers of Attorney (for both healthcare and financial matters), a Living Will (also called a Directive to Physicians), and a Disposition of Remains. I find it best to set up a return date for signing documents at that first meeting to ensure that the process keeps on track.
Prior to the signing appointment, I will email you drafts of your documents, giving you a chance to review them and ensure they reflect your wishes. We will finalize the documents over email to get them ready for signing. The signing of the documents will entail meeting at either my Green Lake office or my downtown/First Hill office.
How can I make an appointment?
You can email me at mtraumerinlaw@gmail.com to schedule your first appointment.
How do I prepare for our first meeting?
In preparation for our first meeting, read through these forms and begin working through them:
Where can I park?
Green Lake Office:
There is plenty of free street parking available on the surrounding streets. If you cannot find parking though, you can also park next door at Lake & Company Real Estate.
Downtown/First Hill Office:
Paid street parking is available. There are also some first-come, first-served guest garage spots in the West Ovation building (enter off Hubbell Place) at $5 per hour. These parking stalls are on level P2, numbered spaces 18-25. Guests will scan a QR code to register their car and pay for parking.
What forms of payment are accepted?
I accept cash, checks, and payments through Zelle.
